Enable Auto-Reply in Thunderbird
For auto-reply, we normally encourages user to set it on the server-side (not via Thunderbird or Outlook) mainly because your email client will not be powered on all the time while you are away. Therefore, it makes sense to set the automated reply at server side and let the server perform the automation for you.
