Remove Signature Dash Separator in Thunderbird

Thunderbrid has an important role of maintaining the Internet standards where a signature must be placed after a double dash separator. This is why they are insisting on using the double separator. However, there is no harm to remove it.

This section guides you on how to remove the double dash separator for your signature.

NOTE: if you had already done this, you can skip this section.

Open Advanced Config Editor

To do that, you need to:

  1. Open your Options tab from Tools main menu tab.
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Select Config Editor.
  4. Accept the carefulness warning by pressing I accept the risk!.
  5. Search for mail.identitiy.default.suppress_signature_separator.
  6. Double-click on it to set it to true. This officially removes the dash separator.
  7. Close the window by pressing X at the top right corner.
